SO fucking pissed. i had a really unpleasant experience on monday when i tried to watch a movie at TGV Cinema, KLCC .. just shows how incompetent some staff in the service sector can be.
6:19pm: went to the ticket counter to buy 3 tickets for "Four Brothers", i forgot to mention the time for the movie i wanted. But the staff forgot to ask to. so the person gave us 6.45 tickets, although i wanted to watch the 9.10 movie cos i was gonna buka puasa with my malay friend(s).
after dinner, at 8 something, friend pointed out that the tickets were for 6.45 .. so went to the ticket counter to ask for a change of time.
ticket counter guy: "no, sorry can't do that .. your movie over already"
FUCK DUH. thats why i want a change of time. i missed my movie and im not wasting 30 bucks for nothing!
so i ask to speak to his boss, then this retarded-looking chinese guy comes out .. i explain my story, and for godsakes he speaks WORSE english than the ticket-counter guy, and the only line he could say was "sorry but this is against the company's policy".
i thought i had gone deaf - "wat? can u repeat that?" you ASK for the manager because you expect them to deal with the incompetence of the lower staff appropriately .. but here was the MANAGER, saying NO.
well so what if it is against the company's policy ? the cinema was SO empty that you could walk straight up to the counter and get tickets. this was a monday night!
so my friends came over and we asked for the highest person in charge, and came another chinese guy. again, he said that "it is against our policy" (pinpointing to the TINY fine print on the board next to ticket counter)
you know what? fuck the policy! you're so fucking dumb! you're providing such crappy customer service when you have absolutely NOTHING to lose. even if it is against policy, so what? havent you heard of bending the rules? dont u have a fucking brain!? you're the fucking most senior person in charge goddamnit! there's not even anyone in the cinema tonight! its empty!
so FINE. if u want to play the fucking "policy" card, i argued, then i think its against YOUR COMPANY'S POLICY that your staff are trained properly enough to confirm the time.
yup, so thats basically how we got our tickets changed.
EVEN THEN, he had the audacity to say that the guy was only a part-time staff, and that he wasnt properly trained blablabla .. while the ticket counter guy just looked like he couldnt give two shits. you know, even the mcdonald guy at the counter knows how to ask - "so you order double cheese burger?"
THIS experience seriously pisses me off, and i have lost my utmost respect for TGV cinema. i never had this kind of problem as GSC midvalley, i've changed my tickets twice with the polite ticket counter girl .. who was nice enough to say "i'll see what i can do, but i have to check with my boss first".
i admit that it was my fault, that i forgot to state the time.
but that is human error, and it is no sad excuse for that shocking level of incompetence in customer service. i worked in customer service for one whole month and i know if you're nice to customers (even tho there are some exceptions), AND smart enough to bend the rules SOMETIMES, customers will be forever grateful to you.
its time some of these retards learn that. |
